When I saw “#ImSingleBecause” was trending worldwide this morning, I initially got a little angry. I was expecting to look at the “top tweets” and see a whole bunch of pathetic tweets regarding why these people were single. But, to my surprise, I was wrong!
I’m gonna shout out to the ladies today, they did me proud! Instead of tweeting #ImSingleBecause of faults, not being good enough, etc. the ladies were standing strong tweeting that #ImSingleBecause I deserve better and have high expectations that just haven’t been met yet!
This has been an issue I have been dealing with a lot lately, on a personal level and with many of my subscribers and readers. There are so many single women out there today and I want to emphasis that THIS IS OKAY LADIES!
In today’s day and age men are not meeting our standards. According to an article from The New York Times:
Dinner at a romantic new bistro? Forget it. Women in their 20s these days are lucky to get a last-minute text to tag along. Raised in the age of so-called “hookup culture,” millennials ”” who are reaching an age where they are starting to think about settling down ”” are subverting the rules of courtship.
Instead of dinner-and-a-movie, which seems as obsolete as a rotary phone, they rendezvous over phone texts, Facebook posts, instant messages and other “non-dates” that are leaving a generation confused about how to land a boyfriend or girlfriend.
This is not acceptable and the only way men are going to realize this is if we stand together ladies! We must demand to be treated different and we have to let them know that this kind of behavior is not acceptable or else they are going to continue acting in a “hookup culture” manner.
Shout out to these ladies for staying strong and setting an example for the rest of us!:
